Admission Requirements

 

 

  • Completion and submission of all required application documents
  • A high school diploma or the equivalent *
  • GPA of 2.0 or higher 
  • Be in good standing with any other institutions of higher education attended
  • Support of the Community Affirmation Statement included in the Application material

 

Students enrolling in eBethany are subject to Bethany University’s requirements and policies.

 

Applicants who do not meet the minimum academic standards will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and may be 1) denied admission or 2) admitted with restrictions and placed on academic probation. Probation may be lifted by proof of satisfactory scholastic achievement.

 

* If you have completed a two year program or 60 accredited units from a regionally accredited college or university, a verification of high school graduation is not required for admission but may be required for financial aid.

 

 

 

Application for Admission

 

We want the application process to be as smooth as possible for you while still providing the University with the necessary details for your enrollment. The checklist below is designed to help clarify and simplify things. All items required for application must be in no later than three weeks before the semester begins. Incomplete application files will be retained for the following semester.

 

If you are a student reapplying to Bethany, please check the appropriate box on the Application form and request official transcripts from all colleges attended since leaving Bethany.  If you have been away for more than three years, a Personal Reference form is also required.

 

Please address all correspondence to the School of Distributed Learning Office

 

1.        If you intend to pursue or use some type of financial assistance, complete and submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  Federally assisted student loans and grants are available, as well as Bethany University scholarships. You will also be provided with a Bethany University Financial Aid Application to submit to the Bethany University Financial Aid office at the appropriate time.

 

2.       Complete and mail, fax, or email the eBethany Application and Writing Sample. Please read the Community Affirmation Statement before signing the application. The application is included in the Information Packet.

 

3.       Have an appropriate person complete and return the Personal Reference form. (A reference is not required for licensed and ordained ministers of any denomination).

 

4.      Have a copy of your SAT or ACT scores sent to us.  Transfer students with at least 24 semester units from a regionally accredited school or students over 30 years old may be exempt from taking the SAT/ACT. The college code for the SAT is 4021 and for the ACT is 0171. 

 

5.       Request that official transcripts from high schools or colleges you have attended be sent directly to us at the above address.  If these are not available, a written and signed statement stating that you have graduated from high school or the equivalent may be submitted in lieu of a high school transcript.

 

 

What Happens Next?

 

1.        You will be contacted as your application materials arrive and to insure that all of your questions and concerns are dealt with promptly.  You may also call us at anytime at.

 

2.       After review of your file, notification regarding your acceptance will be sent to you. Call or e-mail anytime for an update.

 

3.       Once we receive a Declaration of Major, you will receive a personal degree plan which will provide you with an evaluation of your transfer credits. If you need assistance in deciding on a major, we will advise you at your request on a major that best meets your needs and goals. 4.      Before enrolling for classes, you will receive a Student Manual which includes information about registering online, ordering text books, the upcoming Schedule of Courses and eBethany policies and procedures.
