Admissions Process
- The application-admission process begins with the candidate's inquiry. This inquiry is handled by the Admissions Officer for the Teacher Education Program. An application packet and phone or personal contact are part of this initial phase
- Once the applicant returns or submits all required paperwork, their file is open and they are scheduled for the preassessment process.
- The preassessment process includes an interview and two informational assessments.
- The preassessment information and the candidate's files are sent to the Graduate Council for review and rating.
- A recommendation is then made relative to final selection. All candidates are selected solely on the basis of their ability to be successful in the program, in the teaching profession, and in the Christian Bethany community without regard to their ethnic, linguistic, or socioeconomic status. A multicultural background is considered a positive factor for success in the California school system.
- The Admissions Officer and Program Director consult together and act upon the Graduate Council's suggestions and ratings in apprising the applicant of the council's selection.
